Critic's Pick: The
Lab Partners
The new album by Dayton's Lab Partners titled Wicked Branches,
takes the warm atmosphere and flawless melodies of their previous album,
Daystar, and expands them even deeper into space while keeping
true to its indie base. The music's subtleties, which lie beneath several
layers of sound, make the record not only something special but also
extraordinarily unique, a mood record for night owls. The Lab Partners
are one of the few acts who do not have a bass player, instead using
the synthesized keys of Amy Smith to fill in the void. Wicked Branches
will be officially released on Tuesday July 19, but eager fans can purchase
it early at www.reverbr.com
